Profile
山本さと子。東京都目黒区出身、日本女子大学卒業。ブルックリン在住。
2015 年、米 Speedball 社が主催する全米アート学生を対象としたプリントメーキングコンペテ ィティション New Impressions にてニューヨークのアート学生として唯一受賞。3 月には全米 最大規模の版画展示会 SGCI(the Southern Graphics Conference International)に作品が展示さ れる。IFPDA Print Fair、Affordable Art Fair, Chicago Antique + Art + Design Show、Artexpo など 多くの全米アートフェアにて作品が取り扱われる。2020 年、UK 出版 Art Maze Magazine に木 版作家として掲載、MoMA PS1,、British Library など世界各所で記事が公開された。同年、日本 女子大学家政学部住居学科第 22 回奨励賞受賞。2022 年 Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants 、2021 年 Barbara and Carl Zydney Grant for Artists with Disabilities, administered by the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA)受賞。同年 City Artist Corps (NYS Department of Cultural Affairs) 受賞。ニューヨーク公共図書館などで折り紙ワークショップの講師として活動 し、日本文化をローカルの人々に伝える。
執筆業では 2018 年に絵本「ニューヨークにきた まほうつかい」を出版、紀伊国屋マンハッタ ン店舗など国内外で広く取り扱われる。 主な技法はペーパーメーキング、版画(木版、エッチング、モノタイプ、シルクスクリーン) 水彩、アクリルガッシュ。現在も国内外で幅広く活躍する。NYPL Artist Talk with Sato Yamamoto and Kirstern Flaherty
